Bro. Roger Zimmerman grew up in Garrett County, western Maryland. As a young child, he attended Rosedale United Pentecostal Church pastored by Bro. R.J. Riffle in Oakland, MD. Bro. Zimmerman was baptized in Jesus name at the age of seven and received the Holy Ghost, speaking in other tongues, shortly thereafter.

After graduation from high school, Bro. Zimmerman served in the Army National Guard for six years. It was during this time that he felt the call of God into ministry. He received local license with the UPCI in 1977.

In 1980-81, he taught a home Bible study to his employer’s daughter, Patricia Livengood, who accepted this wonderful truth and was baptized in Jesus name and filled with the Holy Ghost. They were married June 5, 1983 at the Rosedale UPC by their pastor, Rev. Ralph Jacks.

In 1987, Bro. & Sis. Zimmerman accepted the ministry of assistant pastor at the Sang Run United Pentecostal church in McHenry, MD, working with Pastor Ira E. Hall. While there, they were privileged to take part in the building of a new worship and learning center on US 219 in Accident, MD, before God called them to move their business and their family to Frostburg, MD in 1994 to start a Home Missions work.

Over the next four to five years, they were able to touch the lives of many students attending Frostburg State University. They baptized many of those students in Jesus name and saw them filled with the Holy Ghost.

In 1999, God moved the Zimmerman family to join the ministry team at Bonnieview Apostolic Chapel in Keyser, WV. The Zimmermans count it as one of the greatest blessings in life to be a part of the ministry of Bro. James Williamson & Bro. Dan Garlitz. “They are truly two of the greatest men of God I know.” – Bro. Zimmerman

Bro. Zimmerman has been blessed to be a part of several mission trips to Africa with plans for many more.

The Zimmermans have two children, Ginger & Roger Jr, who both attend Bonnieview Apostolic Chapel.
