Profile: Pastor Paul Rounds

Sunday School and Church have always been a part of pastor and Sunday School director Paul Rounds’ life.  The first Bible he remembers owning was given to him by a Sunday School teacher.

Paul felt the call of God upon his life when he was still in his teens. Upon graduation from high school, he left his home town of Beloit, Wisconsin, to attend the Apostolic Bible Institute.  It was during his time there in St. Paul, Minnesota, that he met, fell in love with, and married Laura Elizabeth Brooks, from Athens, Ohio.

After Paul and Beth both graduated from Bible college, they began their ministry teaching Sunday School and working with youth.

In March of 1977, the Lord opened a door that brought them into the beautiful hills of West Virginia, to the small, rural town of Webster Springs.  It was there as pastor of the United Pentecostal Church that their four daughters, Jennifer, Julie, Janette, and Joy, grew up in church.

Paul and Beth have served as dorm parents and head dorm parents at the West Virginia District Sunday School Camp.  Paul has been Sunday School Camp teacher, Sunday School Camp evangelist, and Campfire Leader.  He has served as WV District Home Missions Secretary, WV District Sunday School Secretary, and in July of 2003 he was elected to lead the WV District Sunday School Division.
