Mark your calendars:

WV District Youth Congress February 12-13, 2009

Hotel information and rates for WV District Youth Congress 2009 have been posted on the youth section of the website. Click here to go to the Youth site now

I would strongly urge all churches and youth groups to make reservations as soon as possible. There is a WV Boy's Basketball Tournament the same weekend at Nicholas County High School so there are only a certain number of rooms available.

West Virginia Pastors and Young People:

We are in the negotiation process with Brother John Hopkins, the Regional Director of Central America/Caribbean and the Foreign Missions Division at headquarters, about the possibility of taking a Youth on Mission Trip from West Virginia to either Panama or Costa Rica in June 2010.

The ideal group size would be 15 young people and the trip would last for approximately 7-10 days and would include:

1) Participation in church services
2) Bible school tours
3) Street evangelism/ministry
4) Street meetings
5) Capital City Wide Holy Ghost Crusade
6) Singing, preaching, skits
7) Interaction with indigenous church and missionaries
8) Siteseeing tours of Mayan ruins and local tourist attractions
9) Experience of a lifetime
10) Expanded world view

The price would be at or around $2,000.00* per person and would include airfare, lodging, transportation, etc. (Please note that this price is heavily dependent upon the prices of airfares)

The group would be chaperoned by my wife and I as well as other youth team members who decide to go as well as the on-site missionary.

I am announcing this at this time in order to begin to survey the interest level in our district.

Would you please pass this information on to your young people. Ages 15+.

If you or young people are interested, would you please drop me an e-mail with your name, age, why you would want to take such a trip, questions, etc. to:

YouthPres@wvupci.org

Thanks and may the Lord bless you!!!

To all the WV District Pastors, Youth Pastors, Youth Directors, Youth Leaders, Sunday School Directors, Sunday School Teachers and for all that would like to to be part of Bible Quizzing 2009; I write this letter to you.

Both The WV District Sunday School Department and The Youth Department are binding together to promote Bible Quizzing in our state. Bible Quizzing can be such a blessing to your young people and your church. Myself, along with Brother Rounds, have been involved in Bible Quizzing and can assure you that the results are great!

Bible Quizzing is not a stranger in West Virginia. In-fact, we have had some great teams that has went on to Nationals and have done well to represent our District and their local church.

This Year we are quizzing in the book of Luke. The theme for the Juniors is “What’s Up Doc”. And for the Seniors the theme is “The Master Speaks”. It is going to be an exciting year in 2009.

Would you consider Bible Quizzing for your young people? We would be honored to assist you in getting your team started. Even If you have had a team in the past and still need some help, let us help you! We are here for you and for your young people.

We need your help!!! In the up coming months, we will be having a Bible Quizzing Seminar. Again, We need your help!!! We need you to email us by clicking the icon below if your church will be quizzing or if you would like to start a team and would like to attend the Seminar.

We really need to hear from you as soon as possible.

If you will be having a Junior team from ages 8-11 click on this icon:

We are so proud of the teams that made it to State Finals in June of 2008. The two teams were: Peoples Church from Parkersburg and TLC from Morgantown.

TLC became the state champions for 2008. I had such a great time of spending time with all the teams who quizzed at any time thru out the year up to State Finals.

I believe this Picture is very fitting, because these two teams made it thru the year and had such a great time.

I would also like to thank everyone who had helped thru out the 2008 season to make Quizzing possible.

More to come,

Respectfully,

Brother Henry

Bible Quizzing is such A Vital Ministry that every Church and Pastor should consider for the following:

1. Your young people will have a chance to hide the word of God in their hearts.

2. It will help your Young people to develope and mature in their walk with God.

3. It will help them to develope good studying techniques which will also help them in their schooling.

4. They will have the opportunity to meet new friends for a life time.

Of course the list can go on and on. I hope you get the point.

Lets us consider our young people for Quizzing and Quizzing for our young people.

Pastors,

We need your HELP!

To understand better how our district is doing, we need information from you.

All that we need is:
1. Average Sunday Attendance during each month
2. How many Bible Studies were taught during that month
3. How many were baptized in Jesus name during that month
4. How many received the Holy Ghost during that same month.

We need these each month. The Global Impact team will contact you, please have this information available for them.

We want to welcome Bro. Jacob Pack onto the West Virginia Impact Team. Bro. Pack is in Section Four and will be a great addition.

Thank you for helping us with West Virginia Impact.
